Our Team

Meet the Staff…

Mary Jo Walker
, EA, RFC

Mary Jo WalkerAs head of this office, I have to understand accounting and tax standards, practices, rules and regulations. To that end I have been an Enrolled Agent since 1989 and have been diligent in staying abreast of changes in the field. But in day to day practice my focus goes beyond knowledge in my field.

In any conversation it is easy to hear what you want to hear or what you expect to hear. I have found that my primary job is to listen, both to clients and employees. When I do that well, the solutions we propose to client issues are tailored to the specific client. We want no “one size fits all” solutions coming out of this office. Each is specific to a particular situation; context is always relevant.

The work we do is detailed and serious, but it is also very human, rewarding, often fun and sometimes strange. Very few tax and accounting professionals have had the experience of taking an ill client’s birds to a bird rehab center in a small convertible (I like convertibles). The song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,”  which might be my favorite song ever, reminds me that life is serious, strange, fun and always an adventure. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Tracey Brownell

Tracey BrownellMy name is Tracey and I have been working at MJW, EA as a Tax Professional/Office Manager since 2009. Prior to joining the team here at MJW, EA I moved around a lot and was able to gain experience in many different fields. I’ve been the assistant manager of a custom frame shop, a Property Manager for a real estate development company, a Marketing Associate for an advertising company and the Manager of Finance & Administration for a Venture Capital Firm.  I am now studying to sit for the Enrolled Agent exam.

If I had to describe myself I would say that I am reliable, a self-starter and witty. My favorite song is Don’t Worry Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin; I can be having the worst day ever and when I hear that song I just have to smile! The craziest thing I ever did was making the decision to run a marathon. I don’t even like to run, what was I thinking!

Donna McMahon

Greetings! My name is Donna and I have worked for MJW EA since early this year. My job for MJW EA includes many different administrative tasks, such as monthly reconciliations, client deposits, answering the phones, and anything else that needs to be completed! I bring to the table over twenty years of experience in the business world including managing a real estate office where I was responsible for handling their bookkeeping.

If I had to describe myself, I would have to say I am upbeat, positive, and very people-oriented. I love music, especially oldies. There are too many good ones to have just one favorite! Although I have done some strange things in my life, the craziest one was having children! In line with the strangest thing I have ever done, is my biggest quirk-I have to have things orderly! I am extremely organized and like everything to be in its place.
