For those of you with college-age children, good news is here for filing the FAFSA. This year marks the first time that the prior year’s tax return can be used to fill out the Federal Application for Student Aid. Please take a look at the table below as produced by the US Department of Education.
Here’s why this is so awesome:
- Since the application will be available earlier, you will know earlier the status of your application
- You will not have to be stressed waiting for tax documents to come in order to get your application filled out
- You will be able to use actual numbers and not estimates to fill out the application.
Please Note: Schools have their own financial aid packets as well as FAFSA, which may have different deadlines and requirements.
We are, as always, here to help.
