If we have received part of your tax information, please make every effort to get us the remainder of your material on or before April 1st in order to file by April 17th. If we have not received 100% of your tax information by April 1st, we will be unable to guarantee completion of your 2017 tax return by the filing deadline and an extension will be required.
Please note – an extension:
- Is an application to file later, not pay You will still need to pay (if you owe) by the April 17th filing date. Every effort will be made to accurately estimate the tax due.
- Extensions do NOT raise a red flag with the IRS; in other words, you are not subject to more scrutiny if you file an extension.
If you have already sent in all of your paperwork or we have already filed for an extension on your behalf, this deadline does not apply to you.
